Packing List

Lost Lands 2027 Camping Packing List (Plus a Mud & Rain Plan)

Storms and flooding cut the final day of Lost Lands 2026 short. Here's a practical camping packing list for the 10th anniversary at Legend Valley, with a full mud and rain plan.

Lost Lands

Legend Valley, Thornville, OH

TBA – see official site

Lost Lands turns ten in 2027. In 2026, severe storms and flooding cut the final day short, campsites flooded and many vehicles needed a tow to leave. This list is what we would pack for Legend Valley now: the essentials, a camp that holds up in weather, a plan for mud, and what to leave behind. Dates, camping rules and the allowed-items list come from the festival, so check lostlandsfestival.com before you shop and again before you leave.

Essentials

  • Ticket, ID and wristband. Keep them in a zip-top bag.
  • Power bank. Your phone is your map, your meetup tool and your weather alerts.
  • Earplugs. It is a bass festival with very large sound systems; high-fidelity plugs lower volume without muffling.
  • Refillable bottle or hydration pack. Check the bag policy for allowed sizes first.
  • Electrolyte packets. Plain water does not keep up with heat and dancing.
  • Headlamp. One per person, for walking back to camp.
  • Sunscreen, hat and sunglasses. For the dry stretches.
  • Basic first aid. Blister pads, pain relievers and any prescriptions in labeled containers.
  • Warm layer. Nights get cold, especially after a storm.

Camp setup

  • Tent with a full rainfly and bathtub floor. Size up by one or two people so bags stay inside and dry.
  • Ground tarp, slightly smaller than the floor. If it sticks out, it funnels rain underneath you.
  • Heavy stakes, extra guylines and a mallet. Stock stakes bend in soft ground.
  • Sleeping pad or air mattress. Keeps you off a damp floor.
  • Canopy, if the rules allow it. Weight and guy it out, and take it down early when wind picks up.
  • Lantern. Rechargeable is simplest.
  • Cooler, no-cook food and trash bags. Eat a real meal every day and leave your site clean.

The mud and rain plan

  • Waterproof rain boots. The one item not to skip. Break them in and choose a snug ankle so mud does not pull them off.
  • Dry bags or contractor bags. One per person for clothes, sleeping bag and electronics.
  • Poncho or rain jacket. Packable enough to carry all day.
  • Two pairs of socks per day. Wool or synthetic dries faster than cotton.
  • A dry pair of shoes. Kept in the tent for camp and the drive home.
  • Doormat and a shoe bin at the tent door. Mud stops at the entrance.
  • Extra tarps and bungees. To cover gear or patch a leak.
  • Tow strap or traction mats, if you drive. Soft lots slowed exits in 2026. Leave extra time before flights or shifts.
  • Weather alerts on, and a crew meetup spot. Follow official channels for shelter and evacuation instructions, and act on staff directions right away.

What to leave at home

  • Anything on the prohibited-items list. Check the official site; it can change for the anniversary.
  • Glass, generators or cooking gear, unless the official rules allow them. We will not guess at these.
  • Valuables you would hate to lose in mud.
  • Cotton-only outfits. They stay wet all day.
  • A canopy without weights. In wind it is a hazard to you and your neighbors.
